ENGAGEMENT
Professor Pereira has been actively engaged in service at international, national, and regional levels, as well as at Purdue University. He has had leadership positions in national and international organizations, such as the National Association for Gifted Children, the American Educational Research Association, and the World Council for Gifted and Talented Children, has delivered workshops and presentations for educators and psychologists nationally and internationally, and has had research and engagement partnerships with institutions in Brazil, Colombia, and Chile. At Purdue, he has contributed to the
GER2I talent development programs, sharing expertise with program coordinators, faculty, and staff, and has served on Department and College committees. Since 2016, he has been a faculty fellow for a residence hall and faculty advisor for the Brazilian Student Association, opportunities to interact with undergraduate students across campus. In 2016, he received the Department Faculty Engagement Award.
